The Star Wars Nativity

Star Wars Nativity

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas celebration this season. Aside from the love of family and friends let's not forget to honor the Father and his Son Jesus who brought real meaning of unity, forgiveness, love and promise of eternal happiness in His kingdom forever.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

This photo is not intended to offend anyone's belief but merely for honoring the celebration of the Christmas season. Since this blog is a toy collector site, I think it's just fair to express my nativity version through my collections.

Cool Toy Photography Ideas For Beginners

One of the cool reasons why adults are into toy collecting is the beauty of toy photography. Of all the many subjects we can use in photography, why use toys?

Toys like action figures have always been a representation of the characters that kids and adults have always admired. It's the best way to bring these characters to life in a way that you can hold them, manipulate them, or simply remind you how awesome they are.

Toy photography enhances the physical value of toys by revealing its true colors, articulation and most of all the artistic ability in each one of us-and the way to bring out these creative imaginations is to capture the actions, the right light or shadows and the story we want to tell through our toys.

Most adults don't play like kids with their toys but instead they delight themselves in doing cool poses with their action figures. Usually creative toy collectors would customize their toy ships and action figures with new paints, additional accessories or make a diorama for it.
Basically toys have always been a way to cheer or entertain a child and that brings them instant joy! The same goes with toy photography. Every time you see one you get that child-like feeling of excitement, admiration, fun, humor and calmness.
For me when someone takes a toy photo, he or she is in good mood. Now this good feeling can radiate back to the viewers of their photo. Try looking at toy galleries at Instagram or flickr and see what I mean.

Want to cheer someone up? You might want to try toy photography.

So let's begin by exploring these cool toy photography ideas and observe how they did it.

It looks like Hasbro is turning up force to produce more new 6 inch figures on 2015. Actually many fans of the 6" Black Series figures are still running the market race to find a Darth Vader and Prototype Boba Fett which are selling fast online.

Previously we have talked about the next coming figures of Wave 6 that includes Yoda, Tie Fighter, Clone Trooper Sergeant and the repacked Obi Wan. These figures are just up for pre-order in some online toy shops like Dorkside with the estimated time of arrival on November, 2014.

And now New York Comic Con has announced a newer set of 6" figures that will be released somewhere in March, 2015 or maybe earlier!

Let's start with the Star Wars movie photos so you can feel the force flowing in you :-)

How to Buy Toys From the US and Ship to the Philippines

US Philippines Shipping

Have you been looking for a better way to purchase toys online from the US and have them delivered to your doorstep in the Philippines?

Traditionally we have relied to our local postal services to do the job but it usually take 30 to 45 days until you get a parcel claim notification. Unfortunately sometimes they never arrive for unknown reasons. It’s true. It happened to me twice already.

Buying Toys Online Simple Guide

toy stores online

Probably you are looking for a particular toy collectible that isn’t available in your local toy stores. If hope is gone, why not try looking online? Now there are two kinds of online shopping and that is buying online locally and internationally.

Buying online locally means searching for toy items that are being sold online by local sellers who lives in your country. For example if you live in Manila, you can try shopping at websites like olx.ph, ebay.ph, GreatToysOnline and more.

Now there are also facebook pages that you can add to your list who also sell toys online and accept preorders. Some facebook pages are Kramer Toy Warden, Big Boys Toy Store, Sonny’s Toy Art, Land orys, Lanz Collectibles and GreatToysOnline.  If you found an item that interests you, you have the option to have it ship to your doorstep, pick them up from their store branches or do meet up with the seller.

Why Adults Are Into Toy Collecting?

Steve's Toy Room

Do you sometimes feel awkward when you’re in a shopping mall and you tell your wife you're going to the toy store? Or do your co-workers make fun of you when they saw dozens of toys in your room?

Actually there are lots of reasons why big boys and girls are still into toys nowadays. And one main reason is toy collecting.

Now why do people collect? It’s a sense of accomplishment, the beauty of completing things from different sources and the manner it was acquired. It also gives someone a feeling of luckiness when they bought something rare and cheap.

Stormtrooper 6” Star Wars Black Series Review

stormtrooper 6" black series

Here is another awesome figure from Hasbro-the Stormtrooper! Yes and he’s my favorite character in Star Wars. He belongs to Wave 4 that also include Han Solo repack, Obi Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker in Bespin outfit.

The six inch series wouldn’t be complete without including the Stormtrooper who is seen in Episodes 4-6 and has always been one of the iconic sci-fi figures of the Star Wars saga.

Watch Star Movies #TheWayYouWantIt!

Let's get out of my toy room for a while and relax while we watch my digital cable TV. Without the invention and wonders of a television set, we may not fully know and enjoy the super heroes, science fiction and movie characters we idolize today.

I remember during the 70-80s decade, we were limited to a number of channels and you can see some video noise due to its dependency to the antenna's location.

Imagine if you could watch different channels worldwide and enjoy them in the best picture quality without interruption. I think your family and friends will never know the meaning of boredom but instead quality entertainment at home anytime.

Now these are made possible by SKYcable where you can watch 180 channels worldwide in key cities where you can enjoy be updated with what's going on around the world. That is seeing what other nation see in the comfort of your own home.

My Photo Entry for Star Wars 6" Black Series

"Bad boys do have a way with women"

This is my photo entry for the Star Wars 6" Black Series. After tapping my imagination and creativity, this idea finally came to my mind. As we all know, Princess Leia has always been one of the sexiest girl seen on science fiction films. This made me wonder what could have every men in the movie set imagined when they saw Carrie Fisher on her slave outfit?

The picture above depicts some funny moments that could somehow entered the minds of some Star Wars men-character IF a digital camera already existed. It could have a built-in x-ray or super high definition camera feature that can be quickly transferred to their Comlink or Holographic devices.

By the way, the contest runs until February 28, 2014.

Hope to see you soon for my next toy review of War Machine from Iron Man 2.

MAD Magazine Alfred E. Neuman as Superman

One of the best comedy magazines I grew up with is Mad magazine. Every issue is worth the bucks because from the cover page only, you will never miss a laugh with their official fictional model Alfred E. Neuman.

Alfred E. Neuman first appeared from a postcard that is pinned in the bulletin board of Ballantine Books which later caught the attention of Mad editor Harvey Kurtzman. "It was a face that didn't have a care in the world, except mischief," recalled Kurtzman. From then on, Alfred became a sensation!

Jakks Pacific's 31" DARTH VADER

Giant Darth Vader
"You don't know the power of the dark side." -Darth Vader
Now here is one popular villain/hero when it comes to science fiction characters - Darth Vader! I've been a Star Wars fan ever since I was a kid and my first Star Wars action figure was the 1983 Kenner's Return of the Jedi Darth Vader. From teenage to adulthood I have collected various forms of Vaders until one day I saw a giant size Darth Vader being sold online. Having read and watched some figure reviews, I was finally convinced to have one. So after a couple of months searching for this figure locally, I got mine from Toys R Us.

Marvel Select THOR : The Dark World Figure Review

Marvel Select Thor Dark World

I got this Thor figure from one of my favorite ebay stores who offers free shipping and discount. I regret taking a photo of it while it was still in the package because of excitement I guess :-)

Anyway presenting Marvel Select Thor : The Dark World! I was actually waiting for the right time to buy a more good looking Thor since I really don't have one until Marvel Select heard my prayer. For me, this figure is the best among the previous releases. Why? Read on and I'll tell you why.

Neca E.T. The Extra Terrestrial Galactic Friend E.T.

Neca E.T. Galactic Friend
Neca's E.T. Galactic Friend Series 1
Here is one awesome figure that brings back memories from a 1982 movie-E.T. which means Extra Terrestrial. I actually saw this Steven Spielberg film not on the big screen but on a betamax player! The unique look of this alien creature that represents ignorance, friendliness and good heart made me say "I want one!" I even remember my mother who calls my uncle E.T. because of his face resemblance which never fails to make every one laugh.

There were already E.T. toys in the 80s being sold in cinemas but of course not as good as the new ones. They come with a blinking finger and an illuminated heart between its chest. It was powered by a 9 volt square battery.

Welcome To My Toy Room!

steve's toy room

Hello visitor! I'm glad you took time to visit my humble blog.

My name is Steve. I started collecting Star Wars action figures as early as 9 years old but when I reached my teens, toy collecting was set aside until I lost my collections. Now that I'm a father of two lovely daughters, it seems the little boy inside me was awakened to go back into toy collecting.

Since this is my first post, I hope you will come back next time to check out my new posts. I will be featuring my Star Wars stuff, DC and Marvel, Neca and McFarlane and so on. I will be giving my reviews on old and new toy stuff that I have purchased recently.

We'll be also talking about the beauty and art of toy collecting, tips and guidelines on buying and more.

So here we go, let's go to my toy room!
